What Is Commercial Building Electrification?

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions requires a switch from burning fossil fuels to a reliance on more renewable sources, such as wind, solar and geothermal. When we talk about building electrification, this includes replacing traditional, fossil fuel-burning sources of space and water heat with electric HVAC systems – namely, highefficiency heat pumps. The key to true building decarbonization is both operational and embodied carbon through electrification solutions, as well as improved energy efficiency and the use of low-GWP refrigerants.
